Forum Übersicht - Pastor Paul trifft Pastor Giorgio Betonshu...

Teil 1.

Pastor Giorgio Betonshu, auch der Sizilianer genannt, wurde am 24. Dezember im Jahre des Herrn 1959 als Neugeborener auf den Stufen der Kathedrale Nuestra Senora de la Contracepcion zu Catania auf Sizilien gefunden.

Der Küster erbarmte sich des Waisenkinds und adoptierte es mit dem Segen des Bischofs. Seit frühester Jugend nahm Giorgio Betonshu aktiv am Kirchenleben teil, zuerst als Kerzenputzer und Opferstockleerer, später als Hilfsküster, Organist und Ministrant.

Es war deshalb nur natürlich, daß er im Alter von 14 Jahren nach Rom entsand wurde, um im Lateran-Seminar auf seine Rolle als Priester vorbereitet zu werden.

Nach seiner Weihe hatte er Pfarrstellen in Bruscietta, Calzone und Bolognese inne, bevor er nach Sant'Eruptivo de Vesuvio bei Neapel versetzt wurde. Im Rahmen des innerkirchlichen Austauschsprogramms kam er 2005 nach Berlin an die hiesige Partnerkirche.

Hier ist er nun und kann nicht anders. Da bekam er Post aus dem fernen Ghana.
Ein Bruder im Glauben schreibt ihm, Pastor Paul von der Glory Of God Church in Accra Ghana.

Reconstruction of Sant'Eruptivo de Vesuvio For many
years now our municipality already supports the
reconstruction of our Italian brother church on the
summit of the Vesuvs with money, materials, workers
and mental assistance. With modest pride we can report
that meanwhile the basic reorganization of the built
volumes is in full course. Here is the momentary list
of the construction measures:

• Ausbau und Konservierung der frühmittelalterlichen Fresken
  
• Ausbau und Auffrischung des Glockenspiels
  
• Abbau und Sicherung der Statuen
  
• Sicherung des Daches
  
• Fundamentarbeiten und Anbringung einer Schwingungsdämpfung
  
• Sicherung archäologischer Funde unter der Krypta
  
• Teilaustausch des Mauerwerks
  
• Hohlraumkonservierung
  
• Arbeiten in der Umgebung der Kirche

As in each year our church organizes also this time
again a pilgrim's journey to Rome and to
Sant'Eruptivo. Already now have themselves more than
20 municipality members and supporter for the journey
of 22.08. - 26.08.2007 announced.

Apart from mirror-image-ritual illuminating in an
audience with Pope Benedikt XVI. We will take part
also again in the construction measures in
Sant'Eruptivo.

It makes me happy much to report to be able that our
building yard could receive numerous firm of basalt
stones, which are used as usual for Sant'Eruptivo.
Brother Ihendu is very content with the quality and
variety of the volcanic stones, which were collected
by the noble donors at many different places and sent
to the building yard.
